A good friend of mine recently posted to her blog for the first time in a few months with an explanation as to why she hadn't been posting. I am going to attempt to do something similar here now because I feel like I too have been neglecting this site and the irregular posts I had been contributing to it.

I've been a busy bee with school and will only get busier in the coming weeks.
In November I started shooting for Fashion East Halifax. If you haven't already, you should look and see what it's all about. All local (Halifax) female photographers with a focus on maritime streetstyle fashion!

I also started a little tumblr blog of my own that I try to post somewhat regularly to that I call Show and Tell. I'm trying to keep with mostly original content although some of it will be things that inspire me to share with others (you).

Garden greens.

A few goodies grown in my first garden! There were plenty of beans, peas, cucumbers, basil and tomatoes. The peppers, carrots and beets didn't do so well but the adventure of growing my own food was a rewarding and fun experience. I can't wait until next growing season!

Halloween 2011.

This year for Halloween I left my costume idea to the very last minute (as I always do) but I managed to pull something simple together thanks to our handy dress-up box. We had a ladies night out which turned out to be pretty fun! All of our costumes were handmade or made using thrift store finds and whatever other props we came across cheaply. I love the idea of reusing old clothes or costumes for halloween, after all, it's just one night of the year and you will probably never wear the same costume again.
We also had a halloween photobooth at our house while we gave out candy to kids, no plans for the photos yet but I may put up some sneak peeks soon.

I took a few minutes last week to photograph my friend Emily before she moved back to Ottawa after finishing her education at Dalhousie. Emily and I worked together over the summer and thus sparked our undying friendship. I'm sure I'll be seeing more of her beauty in the future.

Thanks to Emily for being a comfortable and natural subject and to Krista for being my trusty assistant.

July Vacation.

This past July, my sweetheart and I, along with his lovely family flew to Ontario to attend the wedding of his cousin Nicole and her fiance Will. While the weather in Ontario was almost 30 degrees warmer (with humidity) than it was in Nova Scotia, I welcomed the heat with open arms. Our time was spent at Bingeman's waterpark, Walper Terrace Hotel (which has been in operation since 1820!), attending family gatherings and of course, the wedding. The outdoor ceremony was very charming and the couple looked incredible. Big thanks to the MacDermid, Roberts and Werth families for the wonderful hospitality and for letting us share the special day with you.
